Edward Preston Bullnose Plane 1347F

The no. 1347F Preston bullnose plane was a unique bullnose plane which had an ingenious device
for converting the bullnose into a small left and a right hand fillister plane.
This extra functionality was achieved with an adjustable and detachable fence and depth stop.
The 1347F plane was an extended version of the 1347 model.
The adjustable fence is attached to the bottom of the plane allowing for a range
of rabbet depths; the fence is adjustable from 1/8" - 1/2" and the depth stop is
adjustable to 3/8". Both the fence and the stop can be detached allowing the user
to perform bull nose work.
The main advantage of the bullnose is that the mouth is close to the front,
making the plane convenient for working into corners.
This is quite a rare and collectable plane, especially finding one in very good
condition with all of the original parts.

What To Watch Out For

Due to the age of these planes, it is quite common to find these planes with missing parts, replaced parts, cracks, chips, and breaks. It is always well worth the effort checking that all parts move freely.
