Preston Bullnose Plane 1347

The Edward Preston bullnose plane number 1347 is an attractive, classic Preston
plane which is instantly recognisable.
This plane was available with a japanned finish or a Nickel-plated finish.
This model has a brass tightening screw on top of the lever cap with the face of
the tightening screw being marked with the Edward Preston logo.
Unlike most original Edward Preston plane designs, this model of plane was not
reproduced by other manufacturers.
This distinctive design is popular amongst collectors and users alike.
These planes must have also been quite popular during the 1900's - 1930's as
during the last decade these have surfaced fairly regularly.

What To Watch Out For

Due to the age of these planes, it is quite common to find these planes with missing parts, replaced parts, cracks, chips, and breaks. It is always well worth the effort checking that all parts move freely. Chips and nibbles around the mouth seem to be quite common with these planes.
