Edward Preston Screw Stem Plough Plane

This Edward Preston wooden screw stem plough plane was one of five versions of the
Edward Preston screw stem type.
Each model was double plated and came with a set of eight plough cutters.
The main differences between the types were the use
of Boxwood or Beech for the screw stems and the choice of buying the plane handled or
unhandled.
At the time of their sale, the use of Boxwood made the plane more expensive to buy
and the solid handled option made the plane more expensive. The ultimate version of the
day was a solid handled plane with boxwood screw stems and skate ends.
