This Edward Preston smoothing plane, number 1014, had a faceplate with the markings 'EP' (Edward Preston)
and a dark green body.
The modern equivalent model 4 smoothing planes can still be bought today from

Plane Markings
"No. 1014" - (raised) found at the front of the plane behind the front knob.
"MADE IN" - (raised) found at the rear of the plane, positioned along one side of the rear handle.
"ENGLAND" - (raised) found at the rear of the plane, positioned along the other side of the rear handle.
"EP" - (raised) found on the lever cap face. The letters 'E P' (Edward Preston)
are positioned raised from the red Preston cherry symbol.
