This Preston jack plane, number 12.
The modern equivalent model 5 jack planes can still be bought today from
makers such as Clifton, Stanley, Record, Veritas and Lie-Nielsen.
Plane Markings

"PRESTON" - (raised) found at the front of the plane in front of the front knob.
"12" - (raised) found at the very rear of the plane behind the rear handle.
"PRESTON" - found on the lever cap face. The letters 'PRESTON'
are positioned raised from the red Preston coloured background. They are arranged
over an upside down 'v' shape background with the 'S' of 'PRESTON' being positioned
at the up most point of the upside down 'v'.
"H'HAM.ENG" - found on the lever cap face raised from the red Preston coloured background.
