Edward Preston Infill Shoulder Plane



The Edward Preston infill shoulder plane had a fine mouth and was filled with rosewood
infill and a rosewood wedge; used to secure the blade in place.
This model of plane was eight inches in length and made in three widths: 1", 1 1/4", and 1 1/2".
The rear of the plane body is marked with the Edward Preston and Sons trademark.
The original plane cutter is also marked with the Preston EP trade mark.
This shoulder plane was similar in style to shoulder planes made by makers such as
Norris, Mathieson, Buck and Spiers Of Ayr.
The Preston infill shoulder plane is fairly rare, especially in comparison to Norris
and Spiers Of Ayr shoulder planes.
